São Lourenço

São Lourenço is a fruit and vegetable stand in the Belo Horizonte market, known for its daily selection of fresh, high-quality tropical produce. The name comes from a nearby farm honoring Saint Lawrence.

Saint Lawrence, likely from Laurentum near Rome, served as a deacon dedicated to helping the poor. When Emperor Valerian demanded the church’s wealth, Lawrence distributed it to the needy, presenting them as the “true treasure of the church,” leading to his execution on a fiery gridiron.

The logo features his likeness with palm leaves symbolizing his martyrdom, a halo for his sainthood, and the gridiron as a necklace hinting at his fate. At the top, a fruit banner connects to the stand’s offerings, rounded off with lively, tropical-inspired typography.
